翠玉白菜—Jadeite Cabbage

「翠玉白菜」寧靜地躺在臺北故宮博物院晶瑩剔透的玻璃櫥窗裡，來自全世界的遊客比肩繼踵，爭相駐足觀賞。人們讚嘆的，會是一塊價值連城的冰冷翡翠嗎？一種米養百樣人：部分「識貨」的人可能會說：「看看那老坑的翠綠色澤、冰種的細緻質地，實在是太稀罕、太珍貴了！」然而，會令絕大多數人（誠如你和我）激賞的，則是能人巧匠的「創意」。因為他順服玉理，如同鬼斧神工般的工藝，將無情玉石綠與白的天然層次，獨出機杼地刻劃出白菜（象徵純潔清白）配上螽斯（意喻多子多孫）的攀附巧思，頓時使得這個作品顯得栩栩如生；而來自海內外的訪客彷彿正在熙來攘往的市場上，圍觀看著這顆再新鮮也不過的白菜待價而沽一樣。倘若缺少了創意，翠玉白菜也許只會淪為富貴人家炫耀顯擺其身分、地位、品味或——想當然耳——財富的高檔玩藝兒；但蘊含著創意，它便是工藝與藝術的結晶、國家和人民的寶藏，會讓我們精心呵護著，世世代代傳承下去。

ペンギン効果

寒い日に、ペンギンたちは海に浮かんでいる氷山の上に立っていました。彼ら全員は非常に空腹でしたが、誰も魚を捕食しなかった。理由は、海の下に泳いでいるアザラシ（ペンギンの天敵）があるかもしれない。突然、一羽のペンギンは海へ跳んだ、そして、他はそれに続くことに跳びました。最後に、誰でも無事に戻って来ました。また、全員は最初のペンギンを囲んで、称賛しました。『馬鹿野郎！ 誰かは私を蹴りました！』と彼は叫んだ。

Penguin Effect

One day, a cloud of penguins stood on an iceberg floating on the ocean. All of them were very starving, but no one dared to go foraging, because there might be seals, penguins’ natural enemies, swimming around under the sea. Suddenly, one of them jumped, and then the others, like falling dumplings, rushed into following it. Finally, thank God for everyone came back safe and sound, and they surrounded and acclaimed the penguin that jumped first. ‘Fuck! Someone kicked me off!’ the first one shouted.

某年某月的某一天，有一群企鵝站在漂浮的冰山上。它們每一隻都很餓、都很想下海去覓食，但是沒有一隻膽敢跳下海。因為，海中可能有海豹（企鵝的天敵）正在游來游去。突然！有一隻企鵝跳下去了，接著，其他企鵝就爭先恐後、像下水餃般紛紛跳下海。之後，謝天謝地，每一隻企鵝都平安歸來，並圍著那隻第一個跳海的，稱讚它很勇敢。結果那隻企鵝說：「幹！我是被你們擠下去的！」

Long long time ago, in Baghdad, there were three slave girls washing clothes and talking by the Tigris River.
‘When could you open your mouth widest?’ one of them suddenly asked.
‘When I am eating the master’s food behind his back.’ The first girl said hastily.
Subsequently, the other two were scolding her.

‘When I am singing for the master.’ the second girl said proudly.
Subsequently, the other two were asking her for techniques.

‘When I’m serving the master.’ the last girl said bashfully.
Subsequently, there were lots of jealous expressions from the other two’s eyes.

Accordingly, beautiful Scheherazade told stories for one thousand and one nights, and then those stories become a masterpiece, a frame story, the “Scheherazade”.

話說《一千零一夜》，勇敢又聰慧的丞相之女雪赫拉薩德，在第一次伺候因戴綠帽而變得殘暴的蘇丹時，幽幽地開口說：「反正我是見不到明天的晨曦了，我的一夜丈夫、我的永恆君王，我可以為你講個故事嗎？」壯碩又赤裸的蘇丹側躺在床上，焦急著說：「OK! OK! 但要快！」美麗的雪赫拉薩德於是坐在床沿，娓娓訴說……

從前從前，巴格達有三個女奴，在底格里斯河邊洗衣聊天。
其中有一個女奴突然問：「妳們在何時，嘴巴張得最大啊？」
第一個女奴搶先說：「我是在偷吃主人食物的時候。」
接著，就是其他兩個不斷地數落她的不是。

第二個女奴大聲說：「我是在為主人唱歌的時候。」
接著，就是其他兩個點頭如搗蒜、叨叨絮絮請教她發音的技巧。

第三個女奴羞怯說：「我是在為主人服務的時候。」
接著，就是其他兩個不斷地投來羨慕又忌妒的眼神。

呃……於是美麗的雪赫拉薩德，就講故事講了一千零一個夜，講成世界名著《天方夜譚》。
